What’s charcuterie?
The origin of the word ‘charcuterie’ is French and rooted in history. Charcuterie is a collective of cured (preserved or cooked) meat. A staple dish in most French households more than a century ago, it is now an assortment of food that means whatever you want it to mean! The tradition isn’t lost on us but today we’ve put a modern twist on this genre of food.
What should I expect of the portions?
Serving sizes are as suggested under each menu item. They are designed as meals or hors d’oeuvres.
Can you tailor my order to my dietary restrictions and/or preferences?
Yes! Boards and grazes can be tailored to your personal preference(s) or dietary restriction(s). We also accommodate any food allergies, dietary restrictions, or preferences—so please let us know! Our boards and grazes are not prepared in an allergen-free environment. We offer gluten-free, Kosher, vegan, vegetarian, paleo-based, and refined sugar-free options. Let me know or leave your request(s) in the comment box when placing your order. Prices will vary.
If there are cheeses or meats that you love and want to ensure are included on the board, please add your preference in the comments section when ordering. This also applies to cheese and meat you don’t love. For example, we know that most people either love or hate bleu cheese. Please help us out and let us know; otherwise, you’re giving us free reign!
Can my order be prepared at my event?
Yes, I would love to prepare your board on site! A live preparation can be a fun and interactive experience. This will cost an additional $25 per hour. The length of time a live preparation takes depends on the size of your party.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Across The Board allows cancellation 2 days (48 hours) prior to your event. Due to the nature of the product, a refund cannot be made. Once delivered, food items are perishable and cannot be returned.
You can also change the date of your request. If you notify me 2 days (48 hours) prior to your event, I will determine if I can meet your request.
How should I store my board?
If you are not going to dive right in, keep your board refrigerated. Otherwise, our boards are ready to be served upon delivery or pick-up.
Do you provide silverware and/or utensils?
No, I do not provide any silverware and/or utensils. Additional charges will apply if requested. Leave me a comment and I will provide you with your options.
Can I order a board as a gift?
Of course! Send us a message and I will also include a personalized hand-written note with your order.
How do I get my board?
You can either pick up your board or have it delivered. Delivery is $15 within a 10-mile radius of Ranch San Diego or $25 within San Diego County.
Can I keep the board?
Yes! If you love it, you can keep it. The charge for keeping it depends on the board. Please inquire and we will give you a quote.
Can I add beverages to my order?
Of course! Please add a note in the comments section indicating what you’d like. Only non-alcoholic beverages are provided. If you’d like a recommendation, please ask! A $25 flat flee will be included if added to your order.
Can you style my food?
Yes! Send me a message detailing what food you’d like styled. I will contact you and we can discuss the options.
